Profile
Karina Elizabeth Vázquez is the Director of the Spanish Community-Based Learning Program. Her areas of specialization are Latin American literature, literary and visual representations of work, the biopolitics of touch and emotions, the representations of food, cooking and domestic paid labor in Latin America, experiential learning, and graphic novels. Her classes combine theretical work with experiential learning through academic projects with community impact. She has published extensively on Latin American, particularly on Argentine narrative, Peronism, labor, film, and pedagogy. Her current research projects are a co-edited volume on the Argentine writer Aurora Venturini, a series of chapters on paid domestic work, and a manuscript on CBL and inclusive pedagogies (co-authored with Martha Wright, UR Museums).
